We are proud to announce that Kerri Reed, of VERICO Premiere Mortgage, has won this year’s Mentor of the Year Award, awarded by CAAMP in recognition of an individual who has inspired others with exceptional qualities and competencies as a mortgage professional.
As Vice-President of Premiere Mortgage Centre she makes it her business to understand and know the people that make her brokerage successful. “You can’t support an agent if you don’t know what type of business they do or how they do it,” she explains. This desire to mentor her colleagues and make sure everyone is learning from one another is the attitude she brings everyday to work.
“Like attracts like,” she says. “I could tell you exactly how the agents want to run their business because I spend time with them every single day. Not all want my help though and I respect that too.” A perceptive and intuitive leader, Kerri adds: It’s important to listen to what people aren’t saying and finding meaning in what’s not said as much as in what is said.”
Overall, Kerri’s ability to mentor when needed and to step back when not wanted has proven successful: many of Kerri’s agents have been with her since she started the firm, which is the best testament to her strength as a leader, mentor, and business manager.
As the business grows Kerri has consistently struck the right mentoring balance while at the same time paving her own way to success.
Kerri, along with the other Awards of Excellence recipients, will be honoured at the Mortgage Hall of Fame and Awards Night on Sunday, November 15 during the Mortgage Forum in Toronto.
