This year, we are celebrating the 20th business anniversary of One Link Mortgage and Financial. Co-owner Caily MacGregor shared with us her reflections on the achievements of the company, and why One Link has continued to partner with VERICO for the last 17 years.
What are some stand out memories or milestones that have been highlights over the last 20 years of business?
“Looking back, I think one of the biggest milestones for One Link is the fact that the company started up in a living room and has gone on to fund over 5.5 billion in mortgage volume since inception. That is quite an accomplishment here in little old Manitoba. Looking at the achievements the company and its agents have accomplished over the years is also a good reflection of just how committed everyone within the organization is to the industry and pushing it forward. ” says Caily.
Why have you continued to partner with VERICO?
“One Link’s founder and VERICO’s founder were very much on the same page for their business models back when VERICO was formed and that has not changed over the 17 years we’ve been partnered together. One of the core values that both VERICO and One Link possess is allowing agents to be fiercely independent in how they run their own business. VERICO offers the ability to truly do things our own way which for us is giving our agents the freedom to choose what’s right for their business. ” says Caily.
Founders Nadine and Marty Coubrough started One Link Mortgage & Financial in the living room of their family home in 2002 with the vision of creating a community of brokers who were focused on always putting the client first. They set out to raise the bar in the industry with three guiding principles that are still the foundation of the brokerage today: professionalism, integrity and ethics. It is this commitment to these principles, combined with the tremendous experience of the One Link family of Mortgage Professionals that deserves the credit for where the brokerage is today. Current broker/owners Daryl Harris, Shelley Stewart and Caily MacGregor stive to uphold the core values the company was founded on and continue to support the agents within One Link so they in turn can make a difference in their clients’ lives.
One Link Mortgage has proudly grown from three Mortgage Professionals and the Coubrough’s living room to almost 40 brokers with locations in North and South Winnipeg, Stonewall, Selkirk, Steinbach and Winkler. The brokerage’s mission of helping people make their homeownership dreams a reality and focusing on delivering the best experience possible to their clients hasn’t changed since 2002. One Link’s leadership works closely with their agents to educate them on the changes in the industry so they can provide clients with professional advice they can trust. One Link prides itself on having an environment that supports continuous learning and growth as well as one that encourages the sharing of knowledge and experience.
One Link has been committed to the mortgage industry by being advocates for the broker channel and Canadian consumers since inception. Team members have taken on roles which have included Mortgage Professionals Canada (MPC) Director, MPC Chair, MPC’s Manitoba Chapter Members Committee, Manitoba Mastermind Founder, MPC Foundation Director and MPC’s Manitoba Broker Counsel. One Link Mortgage is also involved in the MPC Hill Day advocating at the federal level with Members of Parliament and Ministers to help share the struggles Canadian consumers are facing in today’s mortgage landscape.
Over the years, One Link Mortgage has focused on giving back to the community by supporting charities and raising awareness. Each year, One Link selects four charities, which focus on a wide range of causes, to support.
