As an Outline Financial Mortgage Agent, you will be responsible for developing relationships within our existing network of referral partners, and we will support you to grow your own network of referral sources & clients. This role is ideal for a self starter with extreme work ethic and a hunger to develop and manage a pipeline of business. You will have direct access to some of the top mentors in the industry who will provide you with the technical and sales training/support needed to succeed.
Key Roles:
- Manage and develop relationships with external referral partners (realtors, financial professionals, lawyers, accountants, etc.)
- Proactively seek and follow up with new opportunities from referral partners and existing clients.
- Ability to think quickly and confidently when providing clients with mortgage financing options.
- As funny as it sounds – ability to do basic math without reliance on the computer to tell you what the client qualifies for! Logic is key.
- Stay current and up-to-date with lender guidelines, rates and products.
- Ability to effectively manage several clients at various stages of the financing process – being able to multitask is one of the key skills of this job.
- Liaise with lenders and ability (or willingness to learn) how to underwrite mortgage applications. In our view, it is necessary to understand the options before giving advice.
- Work closely with Outline underwriters, administrators and compliance.
Skills:
- 2+ years plus experience in residential lending is a MUST (can be experience at a bank, credit union, underwriting department, etc.). Any applicant without this requirement will not be considered.
- Understanding key policies and guidelines within the Canadian mortgage space. Basic knowledge tests are a part of the interview process.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A team player able to work in the environment where everyone collaborates. Willingness to not only take but give back to the team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A self-starter who can work with minimal direct supervision upon initial training period. Proactive approach is necessary.
- Experience using D+H Expert Filogix, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Standard is an asset
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM or any other financial services CRM is an asset
